He holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Geosciences and Environment and Economic & Management Science, as well as a Master’s in Geology of Mineral Deposits from Kazan Federal University, Russia. Fluent in Somali, English, Arabic, and Russian, he brings a unique combination of technical expertise, multilingual communication, and leadership skills.

Ahmed’s career has been marked by progressive responsibilities at Almaas University, where he has served as Assistant Lecturer in Geophysics and Mineralogy, Admission Director, Finance Officer, and currently as Head of Quality Assurance. Beyond academia, he is the Founder and CEO of Arlada Mining and Exploration Company, demonstrating entrepreneurial vision and commitment to advancing Somalia’s mining sector.

His expertise spans geological modeling, mineral exploration and resource assessment, GIS (QGIS), gemology, drilling supervision, and water engineering practices, supported by international training in 3D geological modeling, open-pit optimization, and personal strategic planning. Baarri has proven ability to work in challenging environments, delivering innovative solutions with minimal supervision while maintaining focus under pressure.
